Abstract

Sport psychology is defined as a professional area and a scientific discipline that focuses on people and their behavior in sports and physical activities. For many it is a subdiscipline of the sports sciences and for others it is a subdiscipline of psychology. Sport psychology has its roots over 100 years ago and has now been a trend. Tapering the theme to sports activities in a prison context, it has an impact on the health and physical and psychological well-being of prisoners, allows them to develop various types of skills, a high rate of crime dropout and rehabilitation, and allows management of criminals. Looking at the present, we live in a pandemic that has conditioned all contexts, and the prison context is no exception. The psychologist is essential currently to assist all the constituents of this context. Despite all this, there is still a long way for sport psychology to travel and to value sport in
the prison context.
