Today leadership in higher education institutions (HEI) faces many challenges in a competitive environment and ever-changing. The strategic choices of these managers have a direct effect on the institutional environment of the organizations. More than ever, leadership must be seen as being embedded in a particular social context and influenced by (or influence) the institutional environment. Therefore, values play a key role in driving HEI towards excellence, where the values of the organizational culture closely linked to the values of leadership. The literature suggests that there is a relationship between leadership values and the values of organizational culture in the context of HEI; however, there are few studies that investigate what kind of relationship exists between both concepts. This work aims to contribute to the discussion of this supposed relationship and assess its implications on the values of stakeholders.
