Declaration of Ethics

GESTIN is a journal with scientific arbitration (double blind review), which is governed by high ethical standards seeking to ensure scientific integrity and is based on the Core Practices of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) – available online at http://publicationethics.org. Management, Editorial Board, Executive Board, Authors and Reviewers must contribute to the pursuit of the aforementioned ethical standards. In this sense, each party must undertake the following responsibilities:

Direction, Editorial Board, and Executive Board:

  • Accept, reject or request modifications to the articles submitted to the journal, taking into account the two reviewers' reports;
  • Adopt measures whenever complaints are presented regarding the ethics underlying a submission or publication process;
  • Ensure the impartial review of each article, basing eventual publication on its merits and adequacy to the scope of the journal;
  • Promote the withdrawal of articles whenever plagiarism is detected;
  • Publish corrections, rectifications or apologies whenever justified.

Authors:

  • Present a rigorous version of the investigation and justify its purpose;
  • Ensure that the submitted articles are original;
  • Inform the Board of any issue related to gross errors or possible detection of plagiarism in the submitted article.

Reviewers:

  • Scrupulously comply with the deadline for reviewing the articles and refuse the review whenever it foresees the impossibility of completing the process within the said deadline;
  • Refuse the review whenever you do not feel qualified to do so, as well as in cases of conflict of interest;
  • Maintain the confidentiality of the content of the articles reviewed and refrain from using them for personal purposes or benefits;
  • Promote an acceptance or rejection of articles based on their originality, merit, clarity, objectivity and adequacy to the scope of GESTIN;
  • Structure opinions in a clear and objective way, presenting arguments that support such opinions.
