Human Resources Management has been promoting diversity and inclusion in organizations, whether in relation to age, gender, nationality, sexual orientation, or disability. However, the percentages presented regarding the employability of people with disabilities are significantly lower compared to people without disabilities. The objective of the study is to analyze the perceptions of Human Resource Management professionals regarding the hiring and retention of people with disabilities, as well as to investigate strategies that contribute to the increase in the exercise of this practice in the management of workers. To achieve the objective of this study, a questionnaire was developed, and 277 valid responses were obtained. After analyzing the data, it was concluded that the Human Resources Management technicians consider that they do not hire or retain people with disabilities because employers do not know how to deal with the needs of these workers, they fear that workers with disabilities do not perform their required duties and/or are concerned about the added costs of hiring these workers. As for the strategies and/or measures that may arise to help in this issue, funding and adequate training related to disability issues for organizations are considered to be the most useful. The integration of people with disabilities into the labor market is a path that must be taken together, with institutions and government officials emanating guidelines that help build a solidary, fair and balanced society.
